Editing Blog: Setbacks

We started editing. Editing our film proved to be quite challenging as we grappled with differing opinions on its direction. Complicating matters further, we edited the film over FaceTime, hindering our ability to collaborate face-to-face. We were having issues understanding what as required. Initially, we deliberated on the title sequence and the opening shot, having already settled on the font but entertaining some last-minute ideas. Unfortunately, these last-minute ideas were non-negotiable due to their prior mention in our blogs. We decided to feature Mai'lyia's in part of the film, showcasing details like the title, actors, and production company. However, an unexpected realization during editing added to our frustration. The instructions specified that we were creating an opening sequence for a movie, emphasizing the challenge of capturing the essence of a film's beginning. Editing Additions

 We re-edited quite a bit of content for editing. To start with, my initial plan was to modify our sequence. I edited as I promised. Mai'lyia edited the movie on Alight Motion, but we eventually moved to Danvinci Resolve. Using a split screen at the start of the movie was another thing we adjusted. That's the reason Ludji and Mai'lyia were facing each other the way they would if they were face to face. The screen was split to indicate that they were in different locations. The video clips in which they were conversing were also cut. It was clear from the lengthy gaps in between each exchange that they weren't actually speaking on the phone. I realized how long the videos were, so I cut them. The film's title was another item we revised. We used a typeface named "horror," however that font wasn't there on the website we utilized, as I noted in my blog post regarding titles and fonts. Filming Blog: The Beginning!

 To be honest, filming was enjoyable and fairly simple. Ludji and I spent the weekend at Mai'Lyia's house so we could shoot. It was easy but challenging at the same time as we were filming. Being videotaped can be uncomfortable at times, but also funny. To get an outstanding video, we had to reshoot a lot of the scenes. We spent almost three hours filming the video which felt like a longer time. Many times, background noise or someone laughing would cause the scenes to sound off, so we would have to start over. We shot in a variety of locations across Mai'lyia's house. We filmed in, the living room, kitchen, back of the home, her room, her sister's room, and her brother's room. The laundry room and dryer in the back of the house served as the primary location or scene for the video. To add even more of an unsettling atmosphere, recordings were made at the back.
