What titles are displayed during the opening sequence?

Titles that are displayed in the opening sequence are the names the director and who the movie is written by. Other titles that are shown are the family names of actors that played in the movie, such as The Peron Family and The Warren Family. It also shows the companies that have made the film or partnered in helping make the film.

What images are prioritized in the opening sequence?

Images that are prioritized in the film are what I assume the victims or actual people the event happened to. The Conjuring is based on a true story so, many pictures of families I think, and pieces of newspapers when the event happened are also shown. The house of where the movie takes place at is also shown.

How does the film establish a feeling of the genre?

At the beginning of the film, the music is the first thing that is heard and is eerie. The enticing music sets the tone for the film given its a scary/horror movie. The music really builds the suspense for the movie as a whole. The black and white photos also establish some sort of creepiness given that the event happened a long time ago. The picture of the house is that it happened in is also dark which gives off a scary feeling as well
