Filming Blog: The Beginning!

To be honest, filming was enjoyable and fairly simple. Ludji and I spent the weekend at Mai'Lyia's house so we could shoot. It was easy but challenging at the same time as we were filming. Being videotaped can be uncomfortable at times, but also funny. To get an outstanding video, we had to reshoot a lot of the scenes. We spent almost three hours filming the video which felt like a longer time. Many times, background noise or someone laughing would cause the scenes to sound off, so we would have to start over. We shot in a variety of locations across Mai'lyia's house. We filmed in, the living room, kitchen, back of the home, her room, her sister's room, and her brother's room. The laundry room and dryer in the back of the house served as the primary location or scene for the video. To add even more of an unsettling atmosphere, recordings were made at the back. We also waited to film till it was darker because we needed some darkness during the filming. Ludji was talking to her buddy while seated on the couch when I initially started filming her scene. I, then recorded Mai'lyia's scene in which she was talking to her friend on the phone. I also kept track of Ludji's movements into the kitchen, laundry room, and other areas. After she got scared, I finally had a chance to record and had to capture her making her way to the room on camera. I also took a video of her experiencing a jump scare. The camera's low sensitivity in the dark made it challenging to film some scenes in the dark. But in the end, we managed to figure it out. Overall, it was a lot of fun to film, and I would absolutely want to collaborate with them on another movie.
