Filming Blog: Finishing the process

Our filming process took two weekends. During the initial weekend, we weren't confused but rather uncertain about how to kick off the project. We filmed a segment, engaged in discussions, and further strategized the film's beginning. The next weekend, Ludji and me headed to Mai'lyia's house, where we successfully completed all filming activities. Originally considering Mai'lyia's camera, we opted for an alternative approach. During the prior weekend, the camera was almost out of power. Additionally, transferring videos to my phone for proper merging and editing proved to be a lengthy and intricate task. Consequently, we chose Ludji's iPhone 11 for filming, benefitting from its cinematic feature. This decision yielded impressive quality, boasting smooth movements and excellent lighting. However, scenes filmed in darkness had slightly lower quality and noticeable graininess. While acknowledging the film's dark theme, I desired a slightly better visual outcome. My actual camera, with its flash, could have enhanced the overall lighting in dark scenes. Despite quality not being the primary focus, the challenge of discerning actors' faces in dark places was somewhat frustrating. Nevertheless, the overall filming was successful, affording us time to relax afterward. Mai'lyia's spacious house facilitated the filming process, offering room and minimal obstacles. Various rooms were utilized to convey different locations in the storyline. Both Mai'lyia and I took turns behind the camera, adjusting for different scenes. Although all of us were part of the film, Ludji played the central character and remained present throughout every scene. This process was hectic but it resulted positively. I had a fun time doing it.
