Intro Blog

 Hello, my name is Joel Francis. I attend Fort Lauderdale High School. I am in the 10th grade and taking AICE Media Studies As. I enjoy sleeping and playing football. I also enjoy going on vacations. This summer I went on a cruise to several different islands. We went to the Bahamas, St Maarten, Antigua, and Aruba. In my free time I go to the park or stay home and relax. I want to be an NFL player in the future and a mechanical engineer. Some things I don't like is failing to do something I tried very hard to accomplish. Also, I don't like quitting. In the past, I used to play soccer and I played baseball for one year but didn't like it. My mom took me out of soccer for middle school I tried football my 8th grade year and I enjoyed it so I kept playing. My hands gets injured a lot, so the doctors say that if I want to keep playing football, I have to take extra precautions to protect them. This year I might branch out and try different sports like wrestling or join a club. I've decided to do this, so colleges can see that I'm not only restricted to one thing. My mom wants me to join the chess club, but I don't want to because I think chess is boring and I wouldn't enjoy it. I was born in Florida but I'm Jamaican. I have one brother, and two sisters. I don't live with them so when I see them, it is very exciting.

Filming Blog: The Beginning!

 To be honest, filming was enjoyable and fairly simple. Ludji and I spent the weekend at Mai'Lyia's house so we could shoot. It was easy but challenging at the same time as we were filming. Being videotaped can be uncomfortable at times, but also funny. To get an outstanding video, we had to reshoot a lot of the scenes. We spent almost three hours filming the video which felt like a longer time. Many times, background noise or someone laughing would cause the scenes to sound off, so we would have to start over. We shot in a variety of locations across Mai'lyia's house. We filmed in, the living room, kitchen, back of the home, her room, her sister's room, and her brother's room. The laundry room and dryer in the back of the house served as the primary location or scene for the video. To add even more of an unsettling atmosphere, recordings were made at the back. Editing Blog: Things Switched

 Therefore, while not entirely incorrect, we completed the last task's filming portion incorrectly. The movie is meant to be a movie's opening scene. Rather than that, we filmed an entire short film. They gave me permission to modify this time as I had a fix request. They provided me with assistance when I needed it. But since I claimed to have Davinci Resolve, we decided it would be better for me to edit the movie. Mai'lyia captured a scene outside her home, which we were in need of. I think I will be the one to combine the footage to make it appear like an opening scene. This is done with the intention of not giving away the entire storyline or content. As I chose the fonts, I will provide the text, titles, and information about production and editing. Ludji agreed that it would be better if we skipped over the portion of the phone conversation that involved her and me.
