Re-Editing Blog: Sending back

Image
Receiving the film I was supposed to edit was kind of exciting. It was also a bit nerve-wracking. When I put the footage into my editing software, I was shocked. There weren't any captions. I started freaking out a bit. Without those captions the film wasn't complete. It was messed up. So, I had to send a message to my partner. I asked her to send the film with the captions or to redo it. She sent the one with the captions. It was a bummer, but I had to send the film back. I needed the captions before I could do anything else. Waiting for the fixed version was tough, but I knew getting it right was super important for the movie's quality. Finally, they sent it back with the captions, and it was a relief. I was good to edit and i did so. Adding those captions helped to show the credits of the people in the film. It taught me how important it is to talk things out and pay attention to the little details when making a film. Putting the final touches on the film made me realiz

Re-Editing Blog: Fixing the issues

Image
Hi blog. After the feedback I had some work to do. I went to edit again. I had to search hard for the video. The flashdrive was hidden so I couldn't find it. I had to watch a video on how to find it. After I found it I looked for what the feedback said to fix. I  couldn't find it so I had to call the groupchat. They assisted me in finding the bad part in the video. I found the issue and I was struggling to find the audio. I listened really carefully to the parts my friend pointed out as having issues. Then, I used the tools in the software to find those spots and fix them up. I looked at the wave item to see where the sound was off in volume or not clear. I adjusted things like the volume and used tricks to get rid of some background noise. I also messed with the settings to make voices clearer. This helped make the film even better!  The software has cool features, so I added some more elements and things to the film, like making the sound more even throughout the project. I

Peer Review

We got two people to critique our blog. They had nothing negative to say and thought that it was really good. Our filming journey has been a rollercoaster of creativity. We included collaboration with my groupmates. We had many unexpected challenges. As a team, we navigated the process of bringing our vision to life on screen. We faced the hurdles of many ideas. We worked hard even if we couldn't meet in person. We had unique circumstance of virtual editing over FaceTime. The title sequence and opening shot became focal points of our film, and despite settling on a font, last-minute considerations made us think that we needed to refilm. Choosing her house as a backdrop was a positive choice. It had the bet space we needed and the items tht we needed. Crucial film details made a sense of personal touch but also led to a realization about the nature of the project. Unearthing the requirement to create a true opening sequence, added a layer of frustration but sparked innovative proble

Editing Additions

We re-edited quite a bit of content for editing. To start with, my initial plan was to modify our sequence. I edited as I promised. Mai'lyia edited the movie on Alight Motion, but we eventually moved to Danvinci Resolve. Using a split screen at the start of the movie was another thing we adjusted. That's the reason Ludji and Mai'lyia were facing each other the way they would if they were face to face. The screen was split to indicate that they were in different locations. The video clips in which they were conversing were also cut. It was clear from the lengthy gaps in between each exchange that they weren't actually speaking on the phone. I realized how long the videos were, so I cut them. The film's title was another item we revised. We used a typeface named "horror," however that font wasn't there on the website we utilized, as I noted in my blog post regarding titles and fonts. Additionally, I had to change the title because there is a specific se

The Filming Struggles

Image
Regarding re-filming our opening sequence, we didn't do a lot of it. We did consider re-filming once we quickly realized that we had made a small mistake. But with February almost over, we reasoned that we wouldn't have enough time to even reshoot. A few segments of our opening sequence were re-filmed. For example, re-filming the scenario if there was background noise or if someone laughed. We had to re-film a scene once since we decided not to use my camera after all. The quality of the camera was excellent, and it seemed like the greatest option for use. But my camera was almost out of battery. So, we had to reshoot the scene in which Ludji is speaking to me on the phone. The exterior of her house is probably where we would re-film if we had to. It was still fairly light outside when she took this video of my house. This movie is set in what feels like an evening or dusk. Presenting the house in its brightest light could potentially confuse viewers. Maybe they'll realize
